NorthWest Animal Hospital in Carrington is an independently owned veterinary clinic serving dogs and cats in NW Calgary. Founded on a commitment to compassionate, science-based care, our team brings together years of clinical experience and a genuine love for animals. Whether you are bringing in a puppy for their first visit, a senior cat for a wellness check, or a pet who needs same-day urgent attention, we approach every appointment with the same care and attention we would give our own animals.
We are located in the Carrington Greens Plaza on the corner of 14th Street and 144th Avenue NW, making us easy to reach from Carrington, Evanston, Livingston, Glacier Ridge, and surrounding NW Calgary communities.
Our Team at NorthWest Animal Hospital
Dr. Bath, DVM, brings over a decade of clinical experience and a deep commitment to relationship-based veterinary care. Known for his calm and methodical approach, Dr. Bath takes the time to explain findings and options clearly, so families can make fully informed decisions about their pet’s health. He has a particular clinical interest in internal medicine, dermatology, and chronic disease management in dogs and cats.
Our support team includes trained veterinary assistants and client care coordinators who ensure every visit runs smoothly from check-in through discharge. We are proud to be a Canadian-owned, independently operated clinic, and that independence means our team can focus on what matters most: your pet’s wellbeing.
Our Approach to Veterinary Care
At NorthWest Animal Hospital, we believe the best veterinary care happens when the team truly knows the patient. We build long-term relationships with the pets and families we serve, taking note of each animal’s history, personality, and individual health patterns over time.
Our clinic is equipped with in-house diagnostic tools including blood panel analysis, urinalysis, digital radiography, and ultrasound, so we can assess and respond without delays in most cases. For advanced imaging, we coordinate access to visiting specialist services when needed.
We serve dogs and cats from puppies and kittens through to senior patients, and our range of services covers preventive wellness care, medical and surgical services, dental care, diagnostics, nutrition counseling, and end-of-life support.

NorthWest Animal Hospital is located in the newer northwest quadrant of Calgary, an area that has grown rapidly and now includes families from Carrington, Evanston, Livingston, Glacier Ridge, Kincora, and Sage Hill. We opened to provide a high-quality, local veterinary option for this community, so families do not have to travel across the city for trusted, consistent pet care.
We are open seven days a week, with extended hours on weekdays, to accommodate the busy schedules of families in NW Calgary. Our team is here whenever you and your pet need us.
